The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports and the Chief Government Spokesperson, has assured Tanzanians and the global community that Tanzania remains safe, with citizens continuing their daily activities as usual.
Gerson Msigwa made these remarks on November 23, 2024, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, during a press briefing addressing various government issues, including national security and the continuity of tourism activities.
“I wish to reiterate and assure Tanzanians and all people worldwide that Tanzania is safe, Tanzania is calm, and people are going about their daily activities as usual. Any incidents that occurred during the General Election period are under investigation, and the outcomes will be addressed accordingly,” Msigwa explained.
Furthermore, he extended a warm invitation to tourists to visit and experience Tanzania’s natural beauty, from Kilimanjaro and Serengeti to Ngorongoro, Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar. “Please disregard any false information aimed at deterring you from enjoying the unforgettable experiences awaiting you here,” Msigwa emphasized.
He added that safari destinations are secure, and accommodation facilities are being improved daily. Moreover, the hospitality of Tanzanians and the efficiency of transportation services make tourist trips smooth and memorable.
“The government is fully committed to protecting you, your companions, and the value of your dollars and shillings when you visit our country,” Msigwa affirmed.
In line with this, Gerson urged journalists to continue safeguarding Tanzania with vigilance, as the nation’s current progress has attracted envy, with some seeking to undermine Tanzania’s achievements through any means possible.
