Dar es Salaam– Preparations for the 50th edition of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) are gaining momentum, as the government moves to position the event as a key driver of domestic and international trade participation.
During a planning session at the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) The Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr Aristides Mbwasi, emphasized the need to accelerate implementation, noting that the golden jubilee presents a rare opportunity to strengthen Tanzania’s presence in global trade and investment markets. “The 2026 DITF marks a major milestone and carries substantial potential to stimulate trade expansion and national economic growth,” Mbwasi said.
The 2026 DITF exhibition is being shaped into a high-impact business platform, designed to attract a wider range of participants, from local to international investors. With a strong focus on quality, innovation, and efficiency, organizers aim to create an environment that encourages business expansion, partnerships, and technology exchange.
According to Latifa Khamis, Director General of TanTrade, the fair will not only highlight Tanzania’s progress in industry and trade over the past five decades, but also unlock new opportunities by connecting local businesses with global markets.
Efforts are also being directed toward increasing international visibility through strategic promotion and stakeholder engagement.
In a statement released in 2nd April, TanTrade emphasize that participants and visitors at the Sabasaba 2026 will benefit not only from extensive business and investment opportunities but also from a rich and diverse experience including live entertainment from both local and international artists, cultural and fashion exhibitions and tourism attractions that allow international guests to enjoy Tanzania’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Dr Khamis said “This year we welcome all stakeholders to participate in SABASABA 2026. It is more than a trade exhibition. It is a celebration of 50 years of achievements, a platform for investment, entertainment, and culture, and we promise our stakeholders unique and memorable experiences.”
