Tanzania is set to host one of Africa’s largest agribusiness gatherings when the 10th Africa Agri Expo (AAE 2026) takes place on 2–3 September 2026 at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds in Dar es Salaam.

Marking its 10th anniversary, the expo arrives at a time when agriculture is increasingly viewed not only as a food security priority but also as a major investment opportunity. Organizers expect the event to attract around 10,000 visitors, 1,000 agriculture-related companies, 125 exhibitors and sponsors, 75 speakers, and participants from more than 35 countries, making it one of the most significant agriculture-focused business platforms on the continent.

The event will bring together a diverse mix of stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, agribusiness executives, technology providers, researchers, development organizations, distributors, commercial farmers, and agricultural entrepreneurs. More than a traditional trade exhibition, the expo is designed as a marketplace for ideas, partnerships, and investment opportunities that can help accelerate agricultural modernization across Africa.

A major focus of AAE 2026 will be agricultural technology and mechanization. Exhibitors are expected to showcase tractors, harvesting and threshing machinery, irrigation systems, precision agriculture tools, drone technology, farm automation solutions, post-harvest equipment, fertilizers, seeds, crop protection products, and digital farming platforms. Organizers have also highlighted emerging technologies such as AI-powered crop diagnostics, IoT-based farm monitoring systems, and smart irrigation solutions as key areas of interest.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the conference program is expected to feature discussions on agricultural productivity, food security, climate resilience, sustainable farming practices, agri-finance, regional trade, value addition, and the role of technology in transforming African agriculture. Business matchmaking sessions and networking forums will also provide opportunities for investors, suppliers, buyers, and government representatives to explore new partnerships and market opportunities.

The speaker lineup includes senior government officials, agricultural researchers, industry leaders, development organizations, and representatives from major agricultural institutions across Africa. Confirmed participants include experts from organizations such as AGRA, the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the World Organisation for Animal Health, and several national agricultural agencies and industry associations.

For Tanzania, hosting the 10th Africa Agri Expo carries strategic significance. Agriculture remains one of the country’s largest economic sectors, employing the majority of the population and contributing significantly to exports and rural livelihoods. As East Africa continues to attract investment in agricultural processing, irrigation, logistics, and agricultural technology, Tanzania is increasingly positioning itself as a gateway to regional markets.

The choice of Dar es Salaam reflects the country’s growing importance in regional trade, improving infrastructure, and expanding opportunities for agribusiness investment. By bringing together international technology providers, investors, and agricultural stakeholders, the expo offers Tanzania an opportunity to showcase its agricultural potential while connecting local businesses to global markets.

As Africa faces the challenge of feeding a rapidly growing population while adapting to climate change and increasing demand for sustainable food systems, platforms such as Africa Agri Expo are becoming increasingly important. The 2026 edition is expected to highlight not only the latest innovations in farming but also the partnerships and investments needed to drive the next phase of agricultural growth across the continent.

For agribusiness leaders, investors, policymakers, and farmers alike, Africa Agri Expo 2026 is shaping up to be one of the year’s most important conversations about the future of African agriculture.
