DAR ES SALAAM – The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has strengthened its efforts to attract foreign investment after a business delegation from the Slovak Republic expressed strong interest in investing in several strategic sectors of Tanzania’s economy.
Speaking during the Tanzania–Slovakia Business and Investment Forum, held alongside the official inauguration of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Tanzania, TISEZA Board Chairman, Ambassador Aziz Mlima, said the development reflects the growing economic partnership between the two countries and the increasing confidence of international investors in Tanzania’s investment climate.
Ambassador Mlima noted that, as the institution responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and promoting investment in Tanzania, TISEZA is committed to ensuring investors receive efficient and reliable support throughout every stage of the investment process. He highlighted the Authority’s One-Stop Facilitation Centre and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as key platforms designed to simplify investment procedures and enhance the ease of doing business.
He also encouraged Slovak investors to take advantage of the wide range of investment opportunities available in Tanzania, emphasizing that Slovakia’s expertise in technology, engineering, advanced manufacturing, innovation, and energy could make a significant contribution to the country’s development priorities.
According to Ambassador Mlima, enhanced cooperation between Tanzania and Slovakia is expected to create employment opportunities, accelerate industrial development, and strengthen Tanzania’s position as a regional manufacturing and export hub serving the East and Southern African markets.
On his part, Daniel Koladova, a Senior Official from Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, said the delegation’s interest in Tanzania was driven by the country’s strong economic growth and the continuous improvements in its investment-friendly business environment. The forum brought together government leaders, public institutions, and private sector representatives from both Tanzania and Slovakia to explore business opportunities, deepen economic cooperation, and promote mutually beneficial investments that support the sustainable development of both nations
