DAR ES SALAAM – The Tanzania Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), working in partnership with NMB Bank, the Chinese Business Community in Tanzania (CBCT), and the Chinese Enterprises Association in Tanzania (CEAT), convened an Investment Promotion Seminar on Special Economic Zones (SEZs) aimed at strengthening investment partnerships and showcasing Tanzania’s growing investment potential.

Held on June 26, 2026, at the East African Community Leadership Centre (EACLC) in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, the seminar brought together executives from Chinese companies, government officials, financial institutions, and other investment stakeholders to explore business opportunities within Tanzania’s Special Economic Zones and discuss measures to further improve the country’s investment climate.

TISEZA’s Director of Special Economic Zones, Ms. Ann Lyimo, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to creating a competitive and investor-friendly business environment. She noted that Tanzania continues to implement reforms that make it easier for investors to establish and expand their operations, while the country’s Special Economic Zones provide a range of incentives that support industrial growth and long-term investment.

She further emphasized that effective collaboration between government institutions, financial partners, and the private sector is essential in advancing Tanzania’s industrialization agenda and positioning the country as a leading investment and manufacturing hub in the region.

During the seminar, participants received detailed presentations on the opportunities available within Tanzania’s Special Economic Zones, the incentives offered to investors, and the services provided through TISEZA’s One Stop Facilitation Centre, which simplifies access to key government approvals and business support services.

Representatives from NMB Bank introduced financial products tailored to meet investors’ needs. Also, experts from the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), the National Environment Management Council (NEMC), and other public institutions provided guidance on regulatory requirements, environmental compliance, taxation, and investment procedures. Overall, the seminar reflected Tanzania’s continued commitment to strengthen economic cooperation with China. Such engagements are expected to attract new investment, stimulate industrial development, create employment opportunities, increase exports, enhance government revenue, and reinforce the country’s
